Ten current Langham Scholars who are studying at UK universities met for a stimulating and encouraging conference in Cambridge earlier this year.
It was the first in-person consultation for this group in three years. Ably led by the Scholars team, the Scholars stayed at Westminster College in Cambridge and enjoyed times of worship, fellowship and seminars.
Each Scholar presented their studies during a presentation, which included time for valuable feedback and questions.
From Sri Lanka to Bolivia
The group also took part in a series of ‘fireside chats’ in the evenings, whereby involved Scholars shared personal testimonies and stories about their home nations and cultures.
A wide range of countries were represented. These include: Argentina; Sri Lanka; Bolivia; India; and two that cannot be named for security reasons.
Chris Wright and Tayo Arikawe also gave talks about the origin and vision of Langham Partnership.
Appreciating being together
All attendees appreciated being together in person. The team organising the consultation ensured that the Scholars themselves took ownership of its format.

The Scholars who attended the consultation are: Sara Amestegui Deik (Bolivia), Elilo Ezung (India), Paul Johnson (Argentina), Nathan Somanathan (Sri Lanka), Guillermo Velilla Guerra (Colombia), Allan Yang (Taiwan), Fiona Lau (Hong Kong), and three Scholars from sensitive countries (names withheld).
